Everyone is talking about the new McDonald’s burger called the Big Arch so I had to see it for myself. I went to the store today because there is so much noise online about this being a huge change for the menu and I really wanted to see if it lived up to the hype from my own point of view.
Setting The Scene

I finally tracked down the new Big Arch burger at McDonald’s to see if it is worth it. My friends keep mentioning it and I saw it all over my feed. It is only being tested in certain areas but I finally got one.
First Impressions In The Box

The Big Arch comes in its own special box which immediately makes it feel a bit more premium than the standard burgers you usually order. You can definitely tell it has some weight to it when you first pick up the carton and get ready to open it.
Checking Out The Size

This thing is definitely not small and looks much bigger than a standard cheeseburger which is what a lot of people were hoping for. It stands quite tall which is largely because of the two large patties and all the toppings they piled on inside.
The Fancy Bun

McDonald’s picked a special bread for this burger and it is a sesame seed brioche bun that looks quite fancy. It has a nice shine on top and feels way softer than the dry bread on a Big Mac. It is a big upgrade.
Two Big Beef Patties

Inside you will find two quarter pound beef patties meaning there is a lot of meat in this single sandwich for a very hearty meal. They are supposed to be thicker and definitely provide a hearty bite for anyone with a big appetite when they visit.
Double The Onions

You get a double dose of onions with this new order because they use two different kinds. The mix of fresh slivers and crispy fried bits tastes very strong. This combination adds a satisfying crunch that makes the burger way more fun to eat today.
White Cheddar Cheese

Instead of the usual orange American cheese they went with two slices of white processed cheddar cheese which looks different. The cheese melts really nicely over the hot beef patties and adds a subtle creamy taste to the whole burger.
The Big Arch Sauce

They created a brand new tangy sauce just for this burger which tastes different than the classic Big Mac sauce many people love. It is savory and tangy and pairs well with all the savory ingredients and the melted cheese.
Standard Pickles

Of course you cannot have a major McDonald’s burger without some pickles inside to cut through the richness. They are the standard tangy pickles they use on most other sandwiches and they are placed right in the mix.
